Henri Brunet Primary School, Caen, France

This website provides you with information and links to support your child’s learning within the International Section at Henri Brunet, you can find out what we’ve been up to in class and the children may need to visit the site for homework studies too.

If you are interested in enrolling your child in the International Section at the primary school then this is the first place to stop for information. Have a look around the site and discover the range of topics we cover in class, then see the page about enrolments to find out the procedures to follow for next year’s inscriptions.

How does the International Section function ?

Children enrolled in the International Section follow lessons in English for 3 hours per week. They attend classes for either Keystage 1 or Keystage 2 depending upon their age group and abilities.

Keystage 1 ( CP, CE1 and CE2)

Classes are held on Monday and Thursday afternoons for 1h30 periods. During this time we explore different projects in « The World Around Us ». We also learn to read and write in English using phonetics and keywords.

Keystage 2 (CE2, CM1 and CM2)

Classes meet on Tuesday and Friday afternoons for 1h30 sessions.

We follow the British curriculum for History (projects may include the Romans, the World Wars, the Victorians ...) and Geography projects will include the world, countries and capital cities, environment and different habitats.

We also study at least 4 different books, poetry, and English grammar over the course of the school year.

Bienvenus à la Section Internationale Britannique
